A SECOND POLICE ORGANIZATION SAYS NO TO NEUNDER

First the state union. Then a national coalition of 1,000+ police units. Law enforcement is lining up behind the challenger — not the chairman who voted yes on every spending surge.

This piece is editorial, column, or advocacy reporting. Sarasota County Facts cites factual claims where supported; we attribute — and do not adopt — the author's conclusions.

The story

The National Association of Police Organizations joined the FPBA in backing Jim DeNiro over Joe Neunder. NAPO represents more than 241,000 sworn officers nationwide. For District 4 voters, it's two major law-enforcement endorsements against an incumbent with a record fiscal expansion on his watch.

Key quotes

Jim DeNiro has spent a lifetime serving others and protecting the people of Sarasota.

Michael "Mick" McHale, NAPO president · Florida Politics, Mar. 26, 2026
